PELOTON (only available in Dutch)
a wonderful look at a wonderful world
In this book of photographs the Belgian cycling photographer Tim De Waele takes you in an impassioned way into the world of cycle racing. You will get the best of what international cycling photography has to offer. You will have a front-row experience of the spectacle, and visit places where the cycling enthusiast would otherwise never get to. In PELOTON effort and beauty embrace each other on each page.
Tim De Waele travels all over the world as a freelance photographer. He specializes in cycle racing. For 250 days a year he is on the road and spends more than 40,000 kilometres on the pillion of a motorbike. He stands up to sun, rain, snow and wind, searching for the best photos and the most original perspectives. His photographs appear in newspapers and magazines such as Procycling, L'Equipe, Sports Illustrated, Velo Magazine, Ciclismo a fondo, Sportmagazine, Het Nieuwsblad-De Standaard, Algemeen Dagblad, La Gazzetta dello Sport…
Tom Boonen wrote a foreword and Fabian Cancellera an epilogue specially for this book. PELOTON is a 'must-have' for every supporter of cycle racing. A book which besides its breathtaking photographs also has 19 short texts with anecdotes from the body of the PELOTON.
"I see a great deal of photographic material of competitive cycle racing. And I can come to only one conclusion from it: Tim De Waele is the best photographer of cycle racing in the whole world. And we, as Belgians, can be proud of that."
(TOM BOONEN)
"Tim is always busy with his job. Sometimes I think I should restrain him a little. But then he would no longer be Tim. I could never live at his tempo. But he enjoys it. Tim is at the top of his trade and he is a great guy."
(FABIAN CANCELLARA).
